The family head (Abusuapanin) of the late Ghanaian highlife legend Daddy Lumba, Kofi Owusu, has made a notable appearance at the musician’s East Legon residence in Accra, days after issuing a stern public warning to the singer’s alleged concubine over her role in the upcoming funeral arrangements.
In a viral TikTok video circulating on social media, Owusu is seen draped in traditional mourning cloth, flanked by other solemn-faced mourners, as they walk into the late star’s plush home.
The footage captures the family head’s composed but firm demeanor, underscoring the tensions that have been brewing behind the scenes of the funeral preparations.
This public appearance follows a controversial interview Owusu granted on July 29, 2025, in which he openly called out a woman identified as Odo Broni, known in private life as Priscilla Ofori Atta.
According to him, Priscilla was the concubine of the late musician and had been “very disrespectful” to the family in the days following his passing.
Owusu accused her of attempting to insert herself and her relatives into matters concerning the burial and funeral rites, a move he said the family strongly opposed.
He emphasized that the Ofori Atta family would not have any official role in the arrangements, declaring that the funeral would proceed without their involvement.
The feud has stirred public interest, as Daddy Lumba — born Charles Kwadwo Fosu — was one of the most celebrated musicians, with decades of influence on the highlife music scene.
His death has attracted national attention, with fans, fellow musicians, and dignitaries expected to attend his funeral.
While the exact funeral date and program have yet to be confirmed, the public rift between the Abusuapanin and Priscilla Ofori Atta has added a layer of drama to what was expected to be a solemn period of mourning.
Many fans have taken to social media to express concern that personal disputes might overshadow the celebration of the music icon’s life and legacy.
Sources close to the family say preparations are underway to ensure that the funeral reflects the traditions and wishes of Daddy Lumba’s maternal family.
