2023 GMB Contestant Ohemaa Caught In Kumasi Theft

Former Ghana’s Most Beautiful (GMB) contestant Ohemaa Sappama Angela has become the subject of a theft allegation following claims that she was linked to missing clothing and fashion items at shops in Kumasi.

Ohemaa, who represented the Bono East Region in the 2023 edition of the popular TV3 beauty pageant, reportedly came under public scrutiny after videos circulated on social media showing her being confronted by a crowd over an alleged theft incident.
The latest details emerged after a shop owner and a woman identified as Obaapa discussed the incident during a TikTok live session.

Obaapa claimed that an earlier incident occurred on Thursday, August 20, 2026, when several items allegedly went missing from a clothing shop operated by a woman she identified as Sister Afia.

According to her account, the missing items allegedly included dresses, slippers, three dressing bags and a new travelling bag. She further claimed that a black scarf believed to belong to the person who allegedly entered the shop was left behind.
Obaapa said she later saw a woman wearing blue leggings hurriedly leaving the area but did not initially realise that the woman might have been connected to the missing items.

The situation reportedly took another turn after Ohemaa was allegedly apprehended in connection with another suspected theft incident at a different location. Videos subsequently circulated showing the former GMB contestant surrounded by members of the public.

According to Obaapa, she noticed that Ohemaa appeared to be wearing the same blue leggings that she had earlier seen on the woman leaving the first shop. She said this prompted her to send a photograph of Ohemaa to Sister Afia, who was reportedly involved in the earlier incident.

Other reports have alleged that Ohemaa was also accused of taking an Abaya lace and a ladies’ dress from another shop without paying.

The controversy has been particularly striking because of Ohemaa’s background in pageantry. She represented Bono East Region during the 2023 GMB competition, a programme known for celebrating the cultural identity, intelligence and talents of young Ghanaian women from different parts of the country.
