Bryan Acheampong Is The Hope For NPP Renewal – Dr. Adomako Kissi

BY Issah Olegor

Former Member of Parliament for Anyaa Sowutuom, Dr. Adomako Kissi, has declared his unflinching support for Dr. Bryan Acheampong, describing him as the only candidate capable of transforming the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and restoring its grassroots strength ahead of the 2028 elections.

In a strongly worded statement, Dr. Kissi said his endorsement of Dr. Bryan Acheampong is not merely based on friendship or party loyalty but stems from a deep conviction that the current trajectory of the NPP demands a complete shift from the old order.

According to him, Dr. Acheampong represents “a new deal” for the party and the country — a leader ready to rebuild trust, reenergize the base, and correct the mistakes that led to the party’s recent electoral setbacks.

Background to the NPP’s Internal Crisis

The NPP has, in recent years, faced internal divisions, apathy, and leadership struggles following its electoral defeat. Many within the party’s grassroots have complained of neglect and marginalization by top party officials, accusing the leadership of centralizing power and ignoring the needs of the ordinary members.

Dr. Adomako Kissi reflected on this history, noting that the 2024 electoral loss was a wake-up call for the party. He said the defeat exposed deep cracks — from voter apathy to poor communication and the alienation of party faithful.

“We crushed into a huge voter apathy and leadership crisis,” he lamented, adding that continuing with the same leadership approach would spell disaster for the NPP.

The Case for Bryan Acheampong

Dr. Kissi believes Dr. Bryan Acheampong, the former Minister for Food and Agriculture and MP for Abetifi, embodies the change the party desperately needs.

He praised his “practical approach” to leadership, rooted in personal experience across business, security, and governance.

He said many disillusioned party supporters who once stayed away from political activities are now attending Bryan Acheampong’s meetings, drawn by his “realistic and people-centered proposals.”

Dr. Kissi emphasized that Acheampong’s commitment to the grassroots, coupled with his reputation for hard work and discipline, makes him a unifying figure capable of bridging divisions within the NPP.

“Bryan Acheampong will rebuild the party from the ground up and restore ownership to the grassroots. With him, ordinary members will have a voice again,” Dr. Kissi noted, adding that Acheampong’s track record in business and public service demonstrates his ability to deliver results.

Call for Transparency and Accountability

Dr. Kissi also criticized the party leadership for allegedly concealing the internal research report detailing the true causes of the NPP’s 2024 defeat. He said the deliberate attempt to withhold the findings from delegates before the leadership selection process was an act of deception that undermined accountability.

“One would have thought the party hierarchy would disclose to the voters the true causes of our election defeat before we select our next leadership,” he said.

“The decision to hide this information only shows that our problems stem from poor governance, excessive centralization, and disregard for the grassroots.”

Bryan Acheampong’s Broader Appeal

According to Dr. Kissi, Acheampong’s accomplishments extend beyond politics. He highlighted the former minister’s vast business empire and technological innovations that have impacted not just Ghana but several African countries.

“Today, countries like South Africa, Liberia, Togo, and Nigeria use software developed from his companies for banking and insurance transactions,” Dr. Kissi said.

“He also operates one of the biggest hospitality properties in Africa, a testament to his visionary leadership and capacity to manage complex enterprises.”

A Message of Hope for the Future

Dr. Adomako Kissi said the NPP’s path to recovery lies in embracing change and presenting a forward-looking candidate who can resonate with the youth and restore public trust.

He maintained that Dr Bryan Acheampong offers a future anchored on job creation, food security, and grassroots empowerment.

“With Dr. Bryan Acheampong, we can return to government and give Ghanaians the hope they deserve. He stands for stability, jobs for the youth, and dignity for the working people,” Dr. Kissi concluded.

He called on party delegates and faithful to “depart from the status quo” and rally behind Acheampong, whom he described as the candidate to lead the NPP to a “resounding victory” in 2028.
