The Member of Parliament for Akuapem North, Samuel Awuku, has reiterated the critical importance of youth empowerment in the development agenda, urging young people to embrace purpose, discipline, and meaningful connections as essential tools for long-term success.

Speaking at the Skill and Purpose Conference held at All Nations University in Koforidua, the Eastern Regional capital the lawmaker engaged students and young leaders in a conversation centered on living intentionally and building impactful lives in an increasingly competitive global environment.

The event formed part of ongoing efforts by institutions and policymakers to inspire and equip the youth with the mindset required to thrive in modern society.

Drawing from his experiences in public service and leadership, Awuku emphasized that youth empowerment must be treated as a national priority rather than an option.

According to him, while academic intelligence remains important, it is a combination of purpose, discipline, and strong networks that ultimately defines success and societal impact.

“Youth empowerment is not optional—it is essential,” he stated, stressing the need for deliberate investment in the next generation through mentorship, skills development, and value-based education.

The conference also brought together key stakeholders in governance and development, with whom Awuku shared the platform.

He expressed appreciation for the opportunity to contribute to discussions aimed at shaping the future of the youth.

Sammi Awuku further reaffirmed his commitment to supporting youth-focused initiatives across the country, noting that empowering young people remains central to national transformation efforts. His remarks align with a broader national conversation on the role of youth in driving innovation, economic growth, and social change.

The engagement at All Nations University highlights the growing emphasis on mentorship and leadership development as Ghana prepares its young population to meet the demands of a rapidly evolving global landscape.
