Priscilla Ofori, popularly known as Odo Broni, has once again attracted public attention after paying an emotional visit to the statue of Daddy Lumba’s late mother, Ama Saah, at Atimatim.
The widow of the late Highlife legend was captured in a video standing quietly before the monument, appearing to pray and reflect as she paid her respects to the woman whose son became one of most celebrated musicians.
The intimate moment has sparked fresh conversations among fans of Daddy Lumba, particularly because it comes against the backdrop of the prolonged family controversies that have followed the musician’s death.
In the video circulating online, Odo Broni is seen dressed in a sleeveless floral outfit with a brown handbag as she approaches the statue. Another woman accompanies her and remains nearby throughout the visit.
Odo Broni then stretches her hand towards the statue before lowering her head and bending forward. While the words of her prayer are not audible, her demeanour suggests a deeply personal moment at the memorial site.
The statue was reportedly erected by Daddy Lumba following the death of his mother, Ama Saah, as a lasting tribute to the woman who played a significant role in his life.
The location has consequently become one of the places associated with the musician’s family history, making Odo Broni’s appearance there particularly significant to those following the family’s affairs.
Daddy Lumba, born Charles Kwadwo Fosu, died on July 26, 2025, at the age of 60. His death brought the music industry to a standstill, with tributes pouring in from musicians, public figures and fans across Ghana and abroad.
But while the country mourned the music icon, disagreements began emerging within his family over issues surrounding his death, funeral arrangements, marital status, family leadership and the administration of his estate.
Odo Broni became one of the most prominent figures in the subsequent family disputes after she and Akosua Serwaa were recognised as surviving wives of Daddy Lumba in court.
The disagreements later spilled into a series of legal and public confrontations, with different factions of the family taking opposing positions on matters concerning the late musician’s legacy.
