GWL Completes Repairs, Restores Water Supply To Western Accra

Ghana Water Ltd (GWL) has announced the successful completion of repair works on a damaged 500mm-diameter main pipeline, restoring water supply to several communities across Western Accra.

The damage occurred during excavation works undertaken by AWERCO Construction Ltd, resulting in a temporary interruption in water supply to affected areas.

According to GWL, its engineers and technical teams worked continuously to repair the affected section of the pipeline.

Water supply has since been restored to Mallam, Darkuman, Kaneshie, Mataheko, Korle Bu, Mamprobi, Dansoman Township, Chorkor and surrounding communities.

However, the company cautioned that some customers may initially experience low water pressure or intermittent flow as pressure within the network stabilises.

Management of GWL has appealed to affected customers to bear with the situation and allow some time for normal service to fully resume.

The company expressed appreciation to customers for their patience, cooperation and understanding during the interruption, while also acknowledging the efforts of stakeholders who contributed to the speedy completion of the repair works.

Customers who continue to experience supply challenges have been encouraged to report them through GWL’s official communication channels.
