Thomas Partey Denies Rape, Sexual Assault Charges

Ghanaian footballer Thomas Partey has denied all charges leveled against him by the London Metropolitan Police.

A statement released by his lawyer, Jenny Wiltshire, confirmed that Partey has fully cooperated with the police and Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) throughout their three-year investigation.

Charges Against

The 32-year-old former Arsenal midfielder was charged with five counts of rape and one charge of sexual assault.

The charges relate to alleged incidents involving three women, with two counts of rape relating to one woman, three counts relating to a second woman, and one count of sexual assault relating to a third woman.

Partey’s Response

Partey’s lawyer stated that her client welcomes the opportunity to finally clear his name and is willing to go through the court process to defend his innocence.

Given the ongoing legal proceedings, Partey is unable to comment further on the matter.

Partey is expected to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on August 5, 2025.

The Metropolitan Police said the alleged incidents occurred between 2021 and 2022.

Presumption of Innocence
