The Black Starlets, Ghana’s U-17 national team, is gearing up for the WAFU B U-17 Cup of Nations final against Cote d’Ivoire.
According to head coach Prosper Ogum Narteh, the team will approach the game differently from their previous encounter in the group stage, where they lost 3-0.
Ogum believes that his team needs to change their structure, mentality, and character to stand a chance against Cote d’Ivoire.
“It will be a different Ghana; our structure will be different, our mentality and our character will also be different,” he said after the team’s win over Nigeria.
The coach emphasized the need for his team to stay focused on the field and re-strategize tactically to meet Cote d’Ivoire boot for boot.
The Black Starlets secured their place in the final by beating Nigeria, while Cote d’Ivoire eased past Burkina Faso in the semifinal clash.
A win in the final will not only bring glory to Ghana but also seal a spot for the team to represent WAFU B at next year’s U-17 Africa Cup of Nations tournament in Morocco.
