German Bundesliga club Eintracht Frankfurt have strengthened their ranks with the signing of highly-rated Ghanaian teenager Lawrence Setordjie from Ghana Premier League side Accra Lions FC, adding another exciting African prospect to their long-term development project.
The 18-year-old midfielder completed his move to the German top flight after attracting interest with a series of impressive performances in the Ghana Premier League, where he emerged as one of the country’s brightest young talents despite his age.
Setordjie’s transfer marks another significant milestone in his rapidly developing career and further enhances Accra Lions’ growing reputation as one of Ghana’s leading talent factories, consistently producing players capable of making the leap to European football.
Despite being only 18, Setordjie was entrusted with the captain’s armband at Accra Lions, highlighting the maturity, leadership qualities and professionalism that made him stand out among his peers.
Over two Ghana Premier League seasons, he made 27 league appearances, scoring one goal and providing three assists while establishing himself as a key figure in the club’s midfield.
Operating mainly as an attacking midfielder, the youngster earned praise for his vision, technical ability, creativity and composure on the ball. His intelligence in possession and ability to influence games caught the attention of European scouts, eventually convincing Eintracht Frankfurt to secure his signature.
Frankfurt have built a reputation in recent years for identifying and nurturing promising young footballers before integrating them into first-team football.
