A 44-year-old man, Emmanuel Ekumfi, is facing trial after allegedly sexually abusing his four daughters at Gomoa Dominase in the Gomoa East District of the Central Region, with their mother, Antoinette Boakye, appealing to the authorities to expedite the case and ensure justice for the children.
According to the children’s mother, the alleged abuse came to light after a misunderstanding between her and her husband resulted in him sending her to her family home.
She said that after returning to her family, she noticed an unusual discharge from her eldest daughter, who was then 12 years old.
Concerned about the child’s condition, she said she repeatedly questioned her until the girl allegedly disclosed that her father had sexually abused her.
Antoinette Boakye further alleged that her daughter disclosed being subjected to sodomy by her father. She subsequently claimed that three other daughters, aged six, eight and another younger child, had also allegedly suffered sexual abuse.
According to the mother, the children were allegedly threatened with death to prevent them from speaking about what had happened.
The allegations were subsequently reported to the Kasoa Millennium City Police, leading to the arrest of the suspect. Emmanuel Ekumfi is now before the court in connection with the allegations, although the specific charges and evidence before the court were not provided in the account.
The mother says her major concern is the pace at which the judicial process is proceeding.
She is appealing to the relevant authorities to ensure that the case is handled expeditiously, arguing that the alleged victims are children who require protection, psychological support and appropriate care while the case proceeds.
She is also calling for support for her daughters and urging the authorities to ensure that the circumstances surrounding the allegations are thoroughly investigated and that due process is followed.
The case is scheduled to return to the Kasoa Ofaakor Circuit Court on September 15, 2026, when the accused is expected to appear again.
