An alleged assault involving suspected National Security operatives and staff of the Ministry of Energy has sparked public concern after exclusive video footage surfaced on Thursday, January 15, 2026.

The incident, which occurred in the Kasoa Amanfrom area, is reported to have involved a violent confrontation on a public road during the morning commute of Ministry officials to work.

According to eyewitnesses, the incident began when an official bus transporting staff of the Ministry of Energy from Kasoa to Accra encountered a pickup truck parked dangerously close to the middle of the road, obstructing the bus’s attempt to join the main highway.

A staff member on board the bus reportedly drew the attention of the pickup truck driver to the improper parking as the bus cautiously maneuvered onto the road.

Moments later, the situation escalated. Witnesses say the pickup truck, which was allegedly occupied by National Security officers, pursued the Ministry’s bus at high speed and deliberately crossed its path, forcing the bus driver to take evasive action.

Despite this, the pickup is said to have crossed the bus a second time, heightening tension and fear among passengers.

Video footage from the scene shows occupants of the pickup truck confronting the Ministry staff through the bus windows before forcibly boarding the vehicle.

The individuals, alleged to be National Security operatives, are seen physically assaulting several occupants of the bus in full view of other passengers. The attack reportedly left at least three people injured, including the bus driver.

A source within the Ministry of Energy said after the assault, the alleged officers dragged one staff member off the bus and drove away with him. As of the time of publication, the whereabouts of the staff member remain unknown, raising serious concerns about his safety and prompting calls for urgent intervention by the authorities.
