The Member of Parliament for Suhum Constituency, Frank Asiedu Bekoe, popularly known as Protozoa, has commenced a streetlight repair and installation exercise aimed at improving visibility and enhancing security in communities across the constituency.

The first day of the exercise took place at Okroase, where the MP and his team began fixing faulty streetlights along major streets and other areas affected by poor lighting. The initiative forms part of efforts to address concerns about darkness in some communities and improve safety for residents and road users at night.

The exercise attracted the participation of party executives, electoral area coordinators and the Assembly Member for Okroase, who joined the team on the ground to support the commencement of the project.

Residents of Okroase expressed excitement as some streetlights were restored after months of darkness. The return of lighting is expected to improve visibility at night and contribute to a greater sense of safety among residents and people who use the affected roads.

According to the project plan, the exercise is being implemented in phases, with Okroase serving as the starting point for Phase One.

Following the initial work, the team is expected to move to other electoral areas within the Suhum Constituency as the exercise progresses.

The initiative is intended to extend beyond a single community, with more areas expected to benefit in the coming days. The phased approach will allow the team to address streetlight challenges across different parts of the constituency.

The commencement of the exercise marks another intervention by the Suhum MP to respond to local infrastructure and public safety concerns. Residents will be watching the progress of the project as the team moves from Okroase to other communities.

The streetlight exercise is expected to continue across the Suhum Constituency in phases, with the broader objective of creating brighter streets and safer communities for residents.
