The Agona East constituency has been plagued by a severe water shortage, exacerbated by the pollution of the Ayensu River due to mining activities.
Despite the Kwanyako Dam supplying water to 42 districts, the demand in Agona East far exceeds the supply, leaving residents struggling to access this essential resource.
To address this pressing issue, the Member of Parliament for the area, Queenstar Maame Pokuah Sawyerr has embarked on a strategic initiative to construct 20 emergency boreholes across the constituency.
Strategic Planning
The construction of these boreholes has been carefully planned, taking into account the population density and water demand in various communities.
This approach ensures that the boreholes are located in areas where they will have the greatest impact, providing much-needed relief to affected communities.
By doing so, the MP demonstrates her commitment to understanding the needs of her constituents and delivering targeted solutions.
The boreholes will bring substantial relief to the residents of Agona East, improving their quality of life and enabling them to carry out their daily activities without the burden of water scarcity.
