Veteran broadcaster and newsroom leader, Vivian Kai Lokko, has officially resigned from her role as Head of News at Channel One TV and Citi FM, marking the end of a defining era in Ghanaian broadcast journalism.
In a brief but formal resignation letter dated 2nd October 2025, and addressed to the HR Manager of Channel One TV and Citi FM, Ms. Lokko wrote:
“I wish to formally resign from my position as Head of News at Channel One TV and Citi FM, effective 2nd October 2025.”
Signed under her full name, Vivian Kai-Lokko, the letter brings closure to her long and impactful service at one of Ghana’s most influential media networks.
An Illustrious Career
Popularly known among colleagues and media consumers as “Her Lokkoship”, Vivian Lokko has spent years shaping the news agenda in Ghana.
She rose through the ranks of broadcast journalism to become one of the country’s most respected editors and newsroom leaders.
Her tenure at Channel One TV and Citi FM has been described by industry insiders as transformational. She played a central role in ensuring that both outlets maintained their reputation for accuracy, timeliness, and sharp analysis in reporting national and international affairs.
Under her stewardship, Channel One TV and Citi FM became household names associated with credible journalism and thought-provoking public discourse.
A Familiar Face and Voice
Apart from her managerial duties, Vivian Kai Lokko also became the face of “What the Papers Are Saying”, a widely followed news review programme on Channel One TV.
Through this platform, she dissected daily headlines, provided context to breaking stories, and facilitated discussions that gave audiences deeper understanding of Ghana’s political and social landscape.

No reason has assigned for her resignation.

Beyond her newsroom role, Vivian recently achieved another milestone in her professional journey.
On February 20, 2025, she graduated with a Master of Science in International Business from the University of Ghana, Legon.
The ceremony, held at the Cedi Auditorium, brought together academics, professionals, and families of graduates.
