Ghana’s Black Queens have sealed their spot in the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) with a resounding 4-0 victory over Egypt’s Cleopatras at the Accra Sports Stadium.
The win completes a 7-0 aggregate victory for the Ghanaian side, who are set to compete in their 14th WAFCON tournament.
Doris Boaduwaa was the star of the show, scoring a hat-trick to take her tally to four goals in the qualifiers.
Her clinical finishing and impressive form will give the Black Queens plenty of confidence as they head into the tournament.
Comfort Yeboah also got in on the action, scoring a stunning goal from a tight angle to make it 3-0 in the 57th minute.
The goal was a testament to the team’s attacking prowess and their ability to create scoring opportunities.
Qualification for 2026 WAFCON
The Black Queens’ qualification for the 2026 WAFCON is a significant achievement for the team and Ghanaian football.
The tournament will serve as a qualifier for the 2027 Women’s World Cup in Brazil, and the Black Queens will be looking to make a strong impression and secure a spot in the World Cup.
