The Ghana Police Service has intensified efforts to curb rising armed robbery cases in the Greater Accra Region following the arrest of three suspects allegedly linked to a string of criminal activities across multiple communities.

The Special Support Unit (SSU) successfully apprehended the suspects in a coordinated operation in December 2025.

The first suspect, Seth Noi Tetteh, popularly known as “Wonder,” was apprehended at the Atadeka Police Station on 24 December 2025.

According to police sources, Tetteh had been implicated in several armed robberies reported in Afienya, Atadeka, Apollonia, and nearby areas.

During interrogation, he confessed to participating in multiple robberies across various locations, including Spintex Road, Airport Residential Area, Community 18, Ashaiman, Mataheko, and Oyibi.

He also revealed that he had collaborated with accomplices in executing these criminal operations.

Following further intelligence gathering, police traced two additional suspects, Selasie Emmanuel and Sulemana Osman, to a hideout in Kasoa Ofankor on 26 December 2025.

A subsequent search of their residence led to the seizure of one pump-action firearm, one BB cartridge, a Bruni pistol, and three rounds of ammunition.

The recovered weapons have been lodged as exhibits to support ongoing investigations.

Authorities have confirmed that all three suspects are currently in police custody and are assisting investigators in unraveling the full extent of the robbery network.

The Police Service has assured the public that it is committed to dismantling the criminal syndicate and bringing all those involved to justice, particularly in light of rising concerns over armed robberies affecting residents and commuters in the Greater Accra corridor.

Criminal activities in the region have seen a marked increase over the past year, with residents of Afienya, Apollonia, and surrounding towns frequently reporting incidents involving armed men targeting motorists, traders, and residents.
