In a shocking incident that has sent shockwaves across Nigeria, a 50-year-old man, Alhaji Nuru Isah, has been arrested by the Bauchi State Police Command for allegedly assaulting his second wife, Wasila Abdullahi, to death over a dispute concerning Ramadan food.
According to reports, the incident occurred on Saturday, March 1, 2025, at approximately 11:30 PM, near Government Girls College in the Fadamam Mada Area of Bauchi.
The police stated that the altercation arose from a misunderstanding between Isah and his 24-year-old wife, Abdullahi, over the handling of food ingredients and fruits designated for breaking the Ramadan fast.
The Bauchi State Police Command’s Public Relations Officer, CSP Ahmed Wakil, revealed that the dispute escalated into a violent confrontation, resulting in Isah striking Abdullahi with a cane.
Unfortunately, Abdullahi collapsed and was rushed to ATBU Teaching Hospital, where medical personnel confirmed her death.
The Bauchi State Police Command has launched a thorough investigation into the incident and has assured the public that ensuring justice in this case remains a priority.
Commissioner of Police, Auwal Musa Muhammad, has stated that the command will leave no stone unturned in unraveling the circumstances surrounding Abdullahi’s death.
Isah is currently in detention, and the police are working to gather more evidence and build a strong case against him.
