MTN Ghana Accelerates Digital Inclusion

MTN Ghana is intensifying its commitment to digital inclusion, youth development, and technological empowerment through a series of strategic initiatives under its Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) framework.

At the heart of the company’s strategy is the ambition to equip young Ghanaians with the skills necessary to thrive in an increasingly digital economy.

Digital skills training remains central to MTN Ghana’s vision of leaving no community behind in the digital era. Through targeted programmes, the company is providing young people with the knowledge and tools required to navigate a rapidly evolving technological landscape, ensuring that the future workforce is equipped for success.

Beyond individual training efforts, MTN Ghana has made significant broader investments in the country’s ICT ecosystem.

The company has contributed over US$2 million toward digital education initiatives and is collaborating with the Government of Ghana to establish a US$25 million ICT Centre.

The proposed centre is envisioned as a national hub for innovation, digital skills training, and collaborative technology development, designed to accelerate the position as a regional digital hub.

The MTN Ghana Foundation continues to play a pivotal role in bridging the digital divide. Among its programmes is the Ministry of Communications’ Girls in ICT initiative, which seeks to increase female participation in technology and address gender disparities in digital skills acquisition.

By supporting initiatives that target underserved groups, the foundation is fostering an inclusive approach to technology adoption.
