BOST Energies Signals New Chapter

A significant leadership transition unfolded in Accra on Monday, February 16, 2026, as BOST Energies Limited Company (BOSTenergies) formally bid farewell to its outgoing Deputy Managing Director, Adwoa Serwaa Bondzie, and welcomed Salifu Nat Acheampong as her successor.

The event, brought together management and staff of the company in a ceremony that symbolised both continuity and transition within one of the key energy institutions.

The development follows the appointment of Ms. Bondzie by President John Dramani Mahama as the new Executive Secretary of the Energy Commission.

Her elevation to the national regulatory body marks a major step in her professional journey and reflects her growing influence within the energy governance architecture.

In line with this appointment, BOSTenergies promoted Salifu Nat Acheampong, a long-serving staff member of the company, to the position of Deputy Managing Director.

The ceremony was not only a farewell but also a moment of institutional reflection, as staff and management paid tribute to Ms. Bondzie’s contribution to the growth and stability of BOSTenergies.

Speaking at the event, the Managing Director of BOSTenergies, Afetsi Awoonor, described Ms. Bondzie’s departure as “bittersweet.”

He praised her for championing an organisational culture grounded in discipline, excellence, staff welfare, and teamwork, noting that while her exit represents a loss to BOSTenergies, it is a major gain for the national power and energy sector.

In her farewell remarks, Ms. Bondzie expressed deep appreciation to the management and staff for their support throughout her tenure.

She described BOSTenergies as her “home” and reaffirmed her commitment to seeing the company thrive, even as she takes on her new responsibilities at the Energy Commission, where she is expected to play a key role in shaping national energy policy, regulation, and sector reforms.

The appointment of Acheampong as Deputy Managing Director also reflects a strategy of internal leadership development and institutional continuity.

In his acceptance remarks, he expressed gratitude to President Mahama for the appointment and pledged his full support to the Managing Director, committing to work collaboratively with management and staff to advance the company’s vision and strategic objectives.

Acheampong brings extensive institutional knowledge and professional experience to the role.

He previously served as Manager for Corporate Communications and External Affairs at BOSTenergies from February 2013, where he led strategic communications, stakeholder engagement, brand management, and media relations.

Prior to his elevation, he held the position of Executive Technical Liaison, advising the Managing Director and contributing to high-level strategic coordination within the company.

His academic and professional background further underscores his preparation for leadership.

He holds a Master of Arts in Mass Communications from the University of Leicester, a Postgraduate Diploma in Diplomacy from the University of Nottingham, a Post Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) from Nottingham Trent University, and an Executive Graduate Certificate in Managing Energy Transition from the University of Texas.

These qualifications reflect a strong commitment to continuous professional development and leadership in the evolving global energy landscape.
