Asante Kotoko Sporting Club are close to appointing Dr Kwame Baah-Nuakoh as the club’s new Chief Executive Officer (CEO), as part of a broader restructuring effort aimed at restoring stability and long-term direction ahead of the 2026/27 football season.

The Porcupine Warriors have operated without a substantive CEO since the departure of Nana Yaw Amponsah, a period that has seen administrative responsibilities handled by an Interim Management Committee (IMC).

The IMC, led by Nana Apinkrah Akwasi Awuah, with support from Kwesi Appiah and Malik Jabir, has been overseeing the day-to-day operations of the club during this transitional phase.

However, with a newly constituted Board of Directors expected to officially assume office ahead of next season, attention has shifted toward establishing a permanent executive leadership structure.

Sources indicate that the board is in the final stages of deliberations to confirm Dr Baah-Nuakoh as CEO, a move seen as critical to aligning the club’s administrative and sporting ambitions.

The incoming board, chaired by James Osei Brown, will include Kwasi Osei Ofori as Vice Chairman and business executive Kofi Amoa-Abban as a member. The board is expected to spearhead a new era of governance, focusing on professionalism, financial discipline and competitive success.

Dr Baah-Nuakoh is no stranger to Kotoko’s administrative structure.

He previously served as the club’s International Relations Manager, a role in which he was involved in strengthening the club’s external partnerships and global engagements. Beyond Kotoko, he has built an extensive profile in sports administration, notably serving as Chairman of the Club Licensing Committee since November 2019, where he has played a key role in enforcing regulatory standards within Ghanaian football.

His professional experience also extends beyond sports, having served as General Manager, Sustainability, at the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation, a position that reflects his background in corporate governance and strategic management.

The expected appointment comes at a time when Kotoko are not only restructuring at the administrative level but are also preparing for changes within the technical team, with plans underway to appoint a new head coach before the start of the 2026/27 Ghana Premier League season.
