BOMBSHELL! Joyce Dzidzor Mensah Names Fifi Kwetey As Child’s Father, Calls For DNA Test

BY Grace Zigah

A fresh controversy has emerged in the public space as Joyce Dzidzor Mensah levels a serious paternity allegation against Fifi Fiavi Kwetey, drawing widespread attention across social media and political circles.

The former HIV/AIDS ambassador, known for her often headline-grabbing public pronouncements, has claimed that Kwetey, NDC General Secretary is the biological father of her 10-year-old son.

According to her, the child recently marked his tenth birthday, prompting her renewed appeal for the senior politician to assume responsibility.

In a series of social media posts circulating widely on platforms such as Facebook and YouTube, Joyce Mensah directly referred to the NDC General Secretary as her “baby daddy” and called on him to “rescue the soul” of their son.

While the exact meaning of her appeal remains unclear, it is widely interpreted as a call for paternal involvement and financial support.

DNA Test Offer And Mounting Public Pressure

In an apparent attempt to substantiate her claims, Joyce Mensah has publicly declared her readiness to undergo a DNA test, insisting it would provide “100% certainty” regarding the child’s paternity.

Her stance has intensified public scrutiny, with many Ghanaians urging an independent verification process to establish the truth.

Despite the growing public interest, Kwetey has, as of the end of March 2026, not issued any formal response to the allegations.

Media personality Blakk Rasta disclosed on his programme The Blakk Pot that attempts to reach the NDC General Secretary for comment were unsuccessful, as calls and messages reportedly went unanswered.

This silence has further fueled speculation, with sections of the public interpreting it in different ways—some calling for restraint until facts are established, while others are demanding a clear response to protect both personal and political reputations.

Traditional Authority Distances Itself From Claims

The controversy has also drawn in traditional authorities from Nogokpo in the Volta Region. In an official statement dated March 29, 2026, the Office of Torgbi Sabah firmly distanced itself from claims Joyce Mensah allegedly made during a visit to the town earlier in February.

The statement described her assertions as “unfounded” and “misleading,” adding that she had previously been cautioned by local elders against making public claims that could not be substantiated.

The intervention by the Nogokpo traditional leadership appears to be an effort to prevent the community from being entangled in the ongoing dispute.

Personalities Involved

Joyce Dzidzor Mensah rose to prominence in Ghana as an HIV/AIDS ambassador, using her platform to advocate for awareness and education.

Over the years, however, she has remained a controversial figure, frequently making public claims that generate mixed reactions.

On the other hand, Fifi Fiavi Kwetey is a seasoned politician and a key figure within the National Democratic Congress.

He has previously served as Member of Parliament for Ketu South and held ministerial portfolios, including Transport and Agriculture, before assuming his current role as General Secretary of the party.

Legal And Social Implications

The unfolding situation has triggered discussions among legal experts and social commentators about the appropriate course of action. Analysts note that if Joyce Mensah intends to pursue the matter formally, she may need to seek a court order compelling a DNA test—especially in the absence of voluntary cooperation.

Public reactions remain sharply divided. While some Ghanaians have expressed skepticism, citing her controversial past, others argue that the allegation is serious and warrants a direct response from Kwetey to either confirm or refute the claims conclusively.

A Developing Story With Political Undertones

Beyond the personal dimension, the issue is beginning to take on political undertones, with some observers cautioning that prolonged silence or unresolved allegations could have implications for the NDC’s public image ahead of future electoral contests.
