Former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo on Saturday, April 4, 2026, paid a courtesy call on President John Dramani Mahama in Kwahu, marking a notable moment of engagement between the two political figures during the Easter festivities.

The meeting took place in the Kwahu enclave, where President Mahama is attending activities linked to the 2026 Kwahu Business Forum — a flagship event that runs alongside the annual Easter celebrations and draws business leaders, policymakers and tourists from across the country and beyond.
Though brief, the encounter highlighted a rare public display of cordiality between the current and former presidents, set against the backdrop of one of the most vibrant cultural and economic gatherings.

Former President Akufo-Addo later shared details of the visit, describing it as part of his long-standing tradition of spending Easter in Kwahu.
He expressed appreciation for the opportunity to meet President Mahama during the festivities, reinforcing the significance of the occasion beyond politics.
Last year a similar meeting took place during the Easter celebrations when President Mahama paid a visit to the ex-president.

The Kwahu Easter celebrations, known for blending tourism, business and cultural activities, have increasingly become a platform where national leaders, entrepreneurs and citizens converge, creating opportunities for both formal engagements and informal interactions.
This year’s event, which features the Kwahu Business Forum and the paragliding festival, continues to attract high-profile personalities, further cementing its status as a key fixture on the national calendar.
