The commissioning, which took place on April 3, 2026, forms part of a broader initiative by the MP to create opportunities for young people through structured sporting activities and improved community infrastructure.

The event was attended by Nana Akyemfour Asiedu Agyemang III, the Abetifi Hene and Kwahu Adontenhene, whose presence underscored the importance of collaboration between traditional leadership and government in driving local development.

Speaking at the ceremony, Dr. Bryan Acheampong reaffirmed his commitment to youth empowerment, describing sports as a vital tool for nurturing talent, discipline, and community cohesion.

He noted that the newly commissioned facility would serve as a platform for identifying and developing young talents within the constituency.

He further disclosed that preparations are underway for Phase Two of the project, which will upgrade the park into a modern sports complex capable of hosting evening matches and large-scale events.

The next phase is expected to include enhanced lighting systems and expanded infrastructure to support broader community use.

The Abetifi Anglican Park project aligns with ongoing efforts to invest in grassroots development and provide safe recreational spaces for the youth. According to the MP, such initiatives are critical in shaping a productive and empowered generation.

Dr. Bryan Acheampong called on residents to support and take ownership of the facility, emphasizing that collective effort remains key to sustaining development in Abetifi and the wider constituency.
