The Member of Parliament for Atiwa West Constituency in the Eastern Region, Korkor Asante, has intensified her annual education support initiative with the distribution of 1,450 mathematical sets to Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) candidates across the constituency.
The exercise, carried out on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, was done in collaboration with the Atiwa West District Directorate of the Ghana Education Service, as part of efforts to equip final-year junior high school students with essential examination materials ahead of the nationwide exams.

According to the MP, the intervention forms part of a broader commitment to improving educational outcomes within Atiwa West, a constituency in the Eastern Region that continues to prioritise access to learning resources and academic support.
Over the years, similar initiatives by the MP have focused on reducing barriers faced by candidates, particularly in underserved communities where access to basic examination tools can be limited.
Education stakeholders in the district have consistently highlighted the importance of such interventions, noting that the provision of mathematical sets plays a crucial role in enabling students to effectively participate in core subjects such as mathematics and technical drawing during the BECE.
Speaking during the distribution, Madam Asante reaffirmed her dedication to education, stressing that empowering students with the right tools is key to building confidence and improving performance.

She indicated that her office remains committed to supporting students through practical initiatives that enhance teaching and learning across the constituency.
The BECE, conducted annually under the supervision of the West African Examinations Council, is a critical assessment that determines students’ progression from junior high school to senior high school.
The donation is expected to benefit candidates from multiple schools within Atiwa West, as they intensify preparations for the upcoming examinations.
The move has been widely welcomed by teachers and parents, who view it as a timely intervention that will ease the burden on families while motivating students to excel academically.
