A 48-year-old pastor, Emmanuel Boachie, has been remanded into police custody by the Asante Akropong Circuit Court in the Atwima Nwabiagya North District of the Ashanti Region.
The pastor, who is the founder of Souls Pasture Church and Awesome Bible College, was accused of publishing falsehoods about Prophet Stephen Adom Kyei-Duah, the founder of the Philadelphia Church.
Background
The allegations stem from a video published by the accused on various social media platforms, including WhatsApp, TikTok, and Facebook, on April 13, 2025.
In the video, the pastor made several derogatory statements about Adom Kyei-Duah, referring to him as a “false prophet,” “thief,” “robber,” “murderer,” “anti-Christ,” and “Satan incarnate.”
Charges
The accused was charged with publication of false news and offensive conduct conducive to the breach of peace.
He pleaded not guilty to the charges and is currently being held in police custody.
Investigation
According to the prosecution, the complainant, Adom Kyei-Duah, reported the matter to the Kumasi Tafo Police after the publication went viral on social media.
During preliminary investigations, the accused admitted to making the publication, which led to his arrest and subsequent arraignment before the court.
Court Proceedings
The case was presided over by Gloria Mensah Bonsu, and the accused is expected to reappear before the court on April 30, 2025.
The prosecution, led by Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Albert Asagre, is continuing investigations into the matter.
