A tragic incident has rocked the Nigerian social media community following the death of popular TikTok content creator known as Disturbing, who passed away after suffering a seizure while live-streaming from his home in Ikorodu, Lagos State.

The event, which unfolded on Thursday, April 24, went viral almost immediately as followers watched in horror.

The entertainer, who also worked as a cobbler and pursued a career in music, had built a notable following online, especially after his active involvement in the widely supported Justice for Mohbad movement.

According to a statement released by his wife, Omowunmi, the 30-year-old collapsed during a livestream session while she was in the kitchen preparing his meal.

She was alerted by neighbours who witnessed the medical emergency unfold.

“My husband was on TikTok live while I cooked his food. Suddenly, he had a seizure, fell, and hit his head on a stone. Blood was coming out of his head. A young boy and some neighbours saw him, thought he had fainted, and poured water on him. They called me from the kitchen,” she recounted emotionally.

Disturbing was rushed to a nearby hospital, where doctors immediately placed him on oxygen. Despite their efforts, he succumbed to his injuries the following morning, on Friday, April 25.

Omowunmi also addressed widespread social media speculation, clarifying that her husband had a documented medical history of seizures and had been receiving treatment prior to his death.

“The last time he had a seizure was in February. It is purely a medical issue,” she emphasized, dismissing rumours of spiritual causes.

The death of Disturbing has sparked renewed conversations online about the pressures content creators face, the need for better awareness around epilepsy and seizure disorders, and the dangers of misinterpreting medical emergencies.

Fans and fellow content creators across Nigeria have expressed their condolences and paid tribute to his legacy.
