Bibiani GoldStars, the Ghana Premier League champions, have parted ways with their head coach, Frimpong Manso, following a 2-0 home defeat to Algerian giants JS Kabylie in the CAF Champions League preliminary round.
This shocking move comes just months after Manso led the club to their historic first-ever Ghana Premier League title.
New Era for GoldStars
Former Black Stars assistant coach Maxwell Konadu is set to take over as the new head coach of Bibiani GoldStars.
The 52-year-old coach has vast experience in the Ghanaian top flight, having previously handled Asante Kotoko, Legon Cities, Nsoatreman FC, and the Black Stars B. Konadu’s appointment is expected to bring stability and renewed confidence to the Bibiani-based outfit.
Konadu’s Credentials
Konadu’s credentials make him a strong candidate to steer the Miners as they seek to defend their league crown and compete on the continental stage.
He guided Asante Kotoko to a Ghana Premier League title and won the WAFU Cup of Nations with the Black Stars B in 2017.
Konadu is expected to sign a two-year contract and will officially take over as Bibiani’s new head coach after the second leg game against JS Kabylie in Algeria.
