What began as an emotional television appearance has rapidly escalated into one of the most explosive celebrity feuds in recent Ghanaian entertainment history, as Mzbel and Afia Schwarzenegger trade accusations involving money, morality, curses and even a controversial arbitration challenge worth millions of cedis.
The latest chapter of the saga was triggered on April 4, 2026, when Mzbel appeared on United Showbiz on United Television (UTV), where she broke down in tears while denying allegations about an alleged inappropriate encounter with a pastor believed to be Prophet Nigel Gaisie.
The singer described the claims as false and part of a long-running smear campaign tied to past controversies, including the infamous “Papa No” saga.
However, her emotional defence quickly backfired when Afia Schwarzenegger responded with a fierce social media attack, accusing Mzbel of playing the victim in a situation she allegedly engineered herself.
Afia questioned inconsistencies in Mzbel’s story and revived old allegations, including claims about how sensitive recordings linked to past scandals found their way into political circles.
The situation escalated dramatically within days as both women abandoned restraint and took their feud to unprecedented levels.
In a fiery counterattack, Mzbel released a viral video daring Afia Schwarzenegger to provide evidence for her claims or remain silent.
She further threatened to expose what she described as “dirty secrets” about her former friend, signalling a shift from defence to full-blown retaliation.
True to her word, the veteran musician began making fresh allegations about Afia’s private life, intensifying public interest and outrage.
But the controversy took an even more sensational turn on April 8, 2026, when Mzbel appeared online flaunting bundles of cash—amounting to GH₵30,000—which she claimed was gifted to her by a prominent associate amid the ongoing feud.
In the video, she suggested that the money was both a reward and motivation to continue the public spat, hinting that online “beef” could be financially rewarding.
“I now understand why Afia Schwar is always fighting online—there is money in it. I am not stopping,” she declared, while displaying the cash.
In a move that shocked many, Mzbel even offered to send GH₵10,000 from the amount to Afia Schwarzenegger’s children for their upkeep—an offer widely interpreted as both taunting and provocative.
Afia Schwarzenegger, known for her equally confrontational style, responded not only with more allegations but also escalated the dispute into a quasi-legal and spiritual battle.
In a letter shared publicly, she summoned Mzbel to appear before a traditional arbitration forum linked to Torgbui Adzima Arbitration Court in the Volta Region.

The summons demanded that Mzbel defend her allegations, with an extraordinary GH₵3 million compensation at stake depending on the outcome.
The notice further indicated that if either party failed to prove their claims, the matter could be referred to traditional deities to determine the truth—introducing a spiritual dimension that has stunned observers and deepened the controversy.
This development came shortly after Afia reportedly invoked curses, calling on traditional spiritual forces to deal with Mzbel should her claims prove false—another move that has sparked intense public debate about the blending of entertainment, spirituality and personal disputes.
The feud, which has roots in years-old personal and political disagreements, has now evolved into a multi-layered conflict involving reputation, past relationships, alleged secrets, financial displays and cultural institutions.
Public reaction has been sharply divided. While some Ghanaians view the clash as an embarrassing spectacle that reflects poorly on the entertainment industry, others see it as a revealing moment that exposes the hidden tensions, alliances and rivalries behind celebrity culture.
