John Boadu Denies Stealing V8 Vehicle

A recent report claiming that a Toyota Land Cruiser V8 allegedly owned by John Boadu, former General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), was impounded by National Security due to wrongful acquisition has been rubbished by his aide, Emmanuel Aniagyei.

According to Aniagyei, the report is not only false but deliberately twisted to serve a malicious agenda.

Emmanuel Aniagyei explained that the vehicle in question is a 2015 registered Toyota Land Cruiser that was personally owned by one Mr. Agyekum.

In 2015, Agyekum swapped the vehicle with John Boadu’s Toyota Hilux. Boadu has been in possession of the V8 since then, long before the NPP assumed office in 2017.

Emmanuel Aniagyei emphasized that Boadu’s ownership of the vehicle predates his tenure as NPP General Secretary.

Retaliation

The timing of the report has raised suspicions, with Aniagyei suggesting that it is a retaliatory measure against Boadu’s recent public criticism of the government’s handling of the arrest of a party faithful.

The individual was arrested over a Facebook post that read “Rest Well…”, and Boadu not only condemned the arrest but also intervened to secure the individual’s release.

Emmanuel Aniagyei believes that the seizure of Boadu’s vehicle is a direct response to his vocal criticism.

Boadu’s Integrity

Aniagyei defended John Boadu’s integrity, stating that he has never taken or allegedly stolen any state property throughout his public life.

“His integrity in this regard is unquestionable,” Aniagyei said. He warned that those behind the malicious report should be prepared to face legal action for character defamation once Boadu’s ownership documents are presented.

However, he urged the media and the general public to treat the earlier report with skepticism and remain vigilant against attempts to suppress voices that speak truth to power.

“We remain resolute,” he said, emphasizing that Boadu will not be intimidated by such baseless allegations.
