Kumasi Asante Kotoko and Nations FC played out a goalless draw in a hard-fought local derby match on Saturday at the Dr Kwame Kyei Sports Complex in Abrankese.

Despite creating openings, both teams failed to convert, leaving fans frustrated after a tense 90 minutes duel.

The match was played under tricky conditions, with heavy rains earlier in the day threatening to force a postponement.

However, the downpour eased just before kickoff, allowing the game to proceed.

The wet pitch made ball control difficult, contributing to a scrappy contest where defences stood firm and clear chances were limited.

Kotoko missed in-form striker Albert Amoah through injury, struggling to find their usual fluency in attack.

Nations FC also lacked top scorer Faisal Charwetey, which blunted their offensive play.

Despite these absences, both teams pushed for a winner, but goalkeepers on either sid1e stood up to the challenge.

Statistical Analysis

The game was finely balanced, with both teams sharing 50% possession and registering nine total shots each.

Nations FC had six shots on target compared to Kotoko’s three, while Kotoko earned four corner kicks to Nations’ six. Kotoko picked up four yellow cards, with Nations receiving two.
