The campaign team of Kwabena Agyei Agyepong, a leading contender in the New Patriotic Party (NPP) 2028 flagbearership race, has expressed profound gratitude to delegates and party supporters in the Central Region for their overwhelming warmth and enthusiasm during his recent two-day regional tour.
The tour, which formed part of Ing. Agyepong’s ongoing nationwide engagement with NPP grassroots, saw the KAA 2028 campaign team making significant stops in Agona Swedru, Winneba, Cape Coast, and Mankessim.
At each of these locations, Agyepong addressed hundreds of constituency executives, polling station officers, and loyal party members drawn from 16 constituencies across the region.
According to the campaign team, the interactions were not only well attended but also highly spirited, as the former NPP General Secretary shared his message of Renewal and Hope — a call for the party to rediscover its founding principles of service, sacrifice, and selflessness.
His appeal for unity, discipline, and a return to integrity-based leadership resonated deeply with delegates, many of whom described his campaign as refreshing and inspiring.
The KAA 2028 Campaign in a statement said the massive turnout and excitement in the Central Region “reaffirm that Ing. Kwabena Agyei Agyepong remains firmly in the flagbearership race,” dismissing what it described as “false rumours” being circulated by detractors about his withdrawal.
The campaign further drew symbolic reference to Agyepong’s placement on the ballot — Number 5 — which they noted was the same position once occupied by his political mentor, former President John Agyekum Kufuor, during the NPP’s 1998 flagbearership contest that eventually propelled him to national leadership.
