The Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) has announced that it will not hold Open Day activities in all military garrisons as part of this year’s 68th Independence Day celebration.
This decision was made public through a media advisory issued by the Public Relations Department of the GAF’s General Headquarters in Burma Camp, Accra.
According to the statement, all parents and school children who may have been looking forward to participating in the Open Day activities are to take note that all military units and garrisons will not be accessible to the general public for this purpose.
This move may come as a disappointment to many, especially students who often look forward to the Open Day events as an opportunity to learn about the military and its operations.

The GAF’s decision to cancel the Open Day activities may be seen as a departure from previous years’ traditions.
However, it is worth noting that the GAF has been undergoing significant transformations in recent years, including efforts to enhance its public image and engagement.
