The organizers of Ofie Market have announced plans for a special end-of-year Christmas edition slated for Saturday, December 20, 2025, as they reflect on the market’s steady growth and community impact since its launch earlier this year.
First introduced in March 2025, Ofie Market was conceived as a community-centred initiative aimed at promoting locally produced goods, supporting small-scale traders and farmers, and strengthening the link between producers and consumers.
Since its maiden edition by the Member of Parliament Sammi Awuku, the market has been held consistently, gradually gaining the trust and patronage of residents and visitors alike.
In a statement issued by the organizers, they expressed deep appreciation to patrons who have supported the market from its early days.
According to the organizers, the consistent turnout and willingness of shoppers to buy locally produced items have been instrumental in the market’s expansion and sustainability.
They noted that this steady support has validated the original vision of Ofie Market and motivated the team to continuously improve the experience for both traders and shoppers.
The statement also paid tribute to traders who have participated in the market since its inception.
Organizers acknowledged the commitment, preparation and professionalism of vendors, describing their role as central to the success of every edition.
They emphasized that the reliability and quality of goods offered by traders have helped build confidence in the market as a dependable destination for fresh food and local products.
Traditional authorities and the wider Okuapeman community were equally commended for their support.
The organizers singled out the Chief and Elders of Amanokrom for their warm reception, guidance and sustained encouragement since March.
They noted that the backing of traditional leadership has helped entrench the market within the community and expand its reach beyond its initial audience.
Special recognition was also given to farmers who supply the market with fresh produce.
According to the organizers, these farmers have worked consistently throughout the year to ensure a reliable flow of quality food items.
Their efforts, the statement noted, have not only helped feed families but have also reinforced the core mission of Ofie Market—supporting local livelihoods while connecting communities to affordable, locally grown food.
