Residents of the Nkontompo area in Takoradi in the Western Region were left in disbelief after 12 individuals in four flashy cars, allegedly involved in occult practices, were apprehended for reportedly attempting to dump a human body into the sea.

According to eyewitness accounts, the suspects were intercepted by vigilant community members as they tried to flee the scene.

Locals quickly blocked their path and raised an alarm, preventing a potential escape.

The incident has sparked renewed concerns about the rise of ritual-related activities in parts of the Region.

During the confrontation, sources claim the suspects attempted to bribe the residents with what was described as a “juicy offer” in exchange for their release.

The offer was reportedly rejected, reflecting the community’s determination to see justice take its course.

Further searches of the suspects’ vehicles by locals uncovered several syringes containing what appeared to be human blood, heightening fears about the nature of their alleged activities.

The suspects have been handed over to the Takoradi Police Command, who are expected to launch a full-scale investigation into the incident.

As of the time of reporting, the Ghana Police Service has not issued an official statement regarding the arrests.

The Western Region has, in the past, witnessed several cases linked to ritual practices, ranging from ritual killings to mysterious disappearances.

Residents and community leaders have expressed growing concern about the prevalence of such activities and have called on authorities to strengthen surveillance and community policing to curb potential crimes.
