Nigerian singer Davido has clarified the circumstances surrounding a viral video that showed him appearing to be slapped during a recent outing in Warri, Delta State.
In a statement on his official X handle, Davido explained that the incident was caused by his security aide, who accidentally hit him, and not by an assault from the crowd.
The video, which surfaced online, showed Davido in the midst of security operatives and fans, with a brief moment where he appeared to be struck on the head.
The incident sparked speculation and concern among fans, with some taking to social media to express their outrage.
An X user, #AsakyGRN, even posted: “Warri people no get joy oo. See dem sl@p Davido for head”.
Davido’s Response
Davido quickly responded to the speculation, writing on his X handle: “Mumu, that was my security… hit me by mistake… saddist.”
This clarification has since put an end to the rumors and clarified the misunderstanding surrounding the viral clip.
