A new wave of entrepreneurship has been sparked in Ho as 228 young Ghanaians received start-up kits to launch their own businesses after completing intensive hands-on training under the BizBox Project.

The initiative, a collaboration between the Ghana Enterprises Agency (GEA) and the Mastercard Foundation, is part of the Agency’s Accelerated Agriculture to Entrepreneurship (A2E) and Accelerated Artisans to Enterprise (AA2E) programs.

The training covered a wide range of trades including fruit juice processing, dressmaking, hairdressing, masonry, and other vocational skills aimed at equipping participants with practical knowledge to operate sustainable businesses.

The ceremony, which marked the official handover of start-up kits, was seen as a symbolic and practical step in empowering youth to translate their skills into income-generating ventures.

Margaret Ansah Ansei, Chief Executive Officer of GEA, encouraged the graduates to be innovative, uphold integrity, and focus on building businesses that could contribute to their communities while remaining resilient over time.

“Their energy and confidence are a powerful reminder of what is possible when young people are given the chance to thrive,” she noted during the event.

The BizBox Project forms part of Ghana’s broader strategy to stimulate youth entrepreneurship, reduce unemployment, and foster economic growth through skills development.

With their new start-up kits and practical training, these young entrepreneurs are poised to contribute to local development and the national economy, demonstrating the impact of targeted support for youth-led enterprises.
