The long-standing demand for improved healthcare infrastructure in Ankwa-Doboro is set to be addressed following the decision by the Member of Parliament for Nsawam-Adoagyiri and Minority Chief Whip, Frank Annoh-Dompreh, to facilitate the construction of a new health centre for the community.
Ankwa-Doboro, one of the most populated communities within the Nsawam-Adoagyiri Constituency in the Eastern Region, has over the years relied on distant health facilities for basic medical care, a situation residents and traditional leaders have repeatedly raised with their elected representatives.
The absence of a permanent health facility has often resulted in delays in accessing emergency care, especially for expectant mothers, children, and the elderly.
In response to these challenges, Annoh-Dompreh on Sunday, December 21, 2025, cut the sod to officially commence works on a Community-based Health Planning and Services (CHPS) compound to serve as the community’s primary health centre.
The sod-cutting ceremony, held at Ankwa-Doboro, was attended by NPP constituency executives, chiefs, opinion leaders, and residents.

The health facility is designed as a storey building with nurses’ quarters, a feature aimed at ensuring the constant presence of health professionals in the community.
The project is expected to be completed within three months, subject to smooth execution and the timely release of resources.
Addressing the gathering, the Minority Chief Whip recalled his track record of championing healthcare projects across the constituency since entering Parliament, noting that the Ankwa-Doboro health centre forms part of a broader agenda to strengthen primary healthcare delivery at the community level.
He urged the contractor to adhere strictly to the project timeline to meet the urgent needs of residents.
Beyond healthcare, Frank Annoh-Dompreh announced complementary social interventions for Ankwa-Doboro.

These include plans to establish a scholarship fund in the name of the community’s traditional leadership to support needy but brilliant students, as well as the construction of a new public library to promote education and literacy.
The chiefs present at the ceremony commended the MP for what they described as consistent and responsive leadership.

They expressed appreciation for the initiative and pledged their support to ensure the successful completion of the health centre, which is expected to significantly improve access to healthcare services for Ankwa-Doboro and surrounding communities.
