The ongoing controversy surrounding the marriage of controversial preacher Bishop Daniel Obinim and gospel musician Florence Obinim has taken another dramatic turn, following the emergence of leaked private conversations between the pastor and actress Benedicta Gafah.
What initially began as public comments by Bishop Obinim about challenges within his marriage has now evolved into a full-blown public dispute involving allegations, leaked messages and emotional reactions from those at the centre of the controversy.
For several weeks, Bishop Obinim and his wife have dominated headlines after the founder of the International God’s Way Church openly discussed marital difficulties and personal issues during public appearances and church gatherings.
His comments triggered widespread debate on social media, with many questioning the state of one of the most talked-about celebrity marriages.
The situation escalated further when actress Benedicta Gafah became entangled in the controversy. For years, the Kumawood actress has repeatedly been linked to Bishop Obinim through rumours alleging an inappropriate relationship between the two.
Although both parties have consistently denied any romantic involvement, the speculation has persisted within sections of the public.
Recently, Bishop Obinim claimed that he had blocked Benedicta Gafah following controversy surrounding his wife and allegations of tension between the actress and Florence Obinim.
According to the preacher, he decided to distance himself from the actress because of the attention and confusion generated by the reports.
However, Benedicta Gafah strongly disputed that version of events. In a public response, she insisted that she was the one who cut off communication with the preacher and not the other way around.
To support her position, the actress released portions of what appeared to be private conversations between herself and Bishop Obinim.
The leaked chats quickly went viral on social media, attracting intense public scrutiny and reigniting debate about the nature of their relationship. In the messages, Benedicta reportedly warned Bishop Obinim to address what she described as repeated attacks from Florence Obinim and also expressed frustration over comments being made about her in public.
The release of the messages sparked mixed reactions online, with some social media users questioning the relationship between the actress and the preacher, while others criticised the public disclosure of private communications.
Amid the growing controversy, Florence Obinim has now spoken publicly for the first time regarding the leaked conversations.
Speaking during an interview, the gospel musician expressed disappointment over the contents of the messages and questioned the nature of the communication between her husband and the actress.
According to Florence, she finds it difficult to understand how someone who insists there is no romantic relationship could engage in such personal exchanges while also allegedly joining in making disparaging remarks about her.
Florence suggested that the conversations raised serious concerns and left her questioning the explanations being offered by both parties. While refraining from directly escalating the conflict, she indicated that she has chosen to leave the matter in the hands of God.
“I have given everything to God to fight for me,” she stated during the interview.
The gospel musician also appeared to make indirect references to Benedicta Gafah’s own past relationship challenges, remarks that have generated significant reactions on social media.
Her comments have since attracted sympathy from many Ghanaians, with numerous social media users expressing concern about the emotional toll the ongoing controversy may be having on her.
