The Ghana Police Service has arrested Inusah Seidu, a 40-year-old man allegedly involved in the shooting incident at Adjin-Kotoku Onion Market in Accra.
A Police Brief on Wednesday said Seidu was arrested by a team of Police officers at approximately 1500 hours on April 8 at Adjin-Kotoku.
“’The suspect is believed to have been involved in the shooting incident that occurred on April 5, 2026,” it said.
Seidu is currently in police custody assisting with investigations.
It said efforts were underway to apprehend other suspects connected to the incident.
Following the earlier disturbance at the market on April 5, a team of surveillance officers from the Special Operations Unit under the Office of the Assistant to the Inspector-General of Police (IGP) was dispatched to the area to conduct a fact-finding mission.
On April 8, at approximately 1500 hours, the team successfully arrested Inusah Seidu from his hideout at Adjin-Kotoku.
There was a clash between some youth at the market and their Nigerian counterparts on Monday, April 6, as the Nigerians allegedly did not comply with the trade rules.
