The Ghanaian national football team, the Black Stars, are set to regroup for their upcoming 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Chad and Madagascar.
Following a disappointing failure to qualify for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) for the first time in 20 years, the team is eager to bounce back and make a strong impression in the World Cup qualifiers.
Coach Otto Addo has announced a formidable 25-man squad for the crucial matches, blending youth with experience.
The team will be led by captain Jordan Ayew, with Thomas Partey making his return to the squad after missing the AFCON tournament due to injury.
Partey’s inclusion is a significant boost to the team, given his impressive performance in the Premier League.
Three local players – Benjamin Asare of Hearts of Oak, Razak Simpson of Nations FC, and Kamaradini Mamudu of Medeama SC – have also earned spots in the squad.
This inclusion is seen as a strategic move to strengthen the team’s local content and provide opportunities for home-grown talent to shine.
Ghana will face Chad at the Accra Sports Stadium on Friday, March 21, 2025, before traveling to Morocco for a crucial Group I match against Madagascar on Monday, March 24, 2025.
The team will commence their training camp in Accra on Monday, March 17, 2025, as they gear up for these vital fixtures.

The Black Stars are currently second in Group I with nine points after four matches.
The upcoming matches against Chad and Madagascar will be crucial in determining Ghana’s chances of qualifying for the 2026 World Cup.
