Obinim Marriage With Florence Crashing

A seemingly cheerful family moment involving Bishop Daniel Obinim and his children has unexpectedly reignited debate over the reported breakdown of his marriage to gospel musician Florence Obinim.

A new video showing the founder of International Godsway Ministries sharing a playful dining moment with his children has attracted significant attention online, largely because it emerged against the backdrop of reports that Florence Obinim has initiated traditional divorce proceedings after more than two decades of marriage.

In the footage, Bishop Obinim is seen seated at a dining table with his children, engaging them in conversation and encouraging them to pose playfully for the camera. The atmosphere appears relaxed, with the children smiling and interacting with their father.

Obinim later used the moment to deliver a message to his followers about Christ.

Ordinarily, the video might have been viewed simply as a father spending quality time with his children. However, the timing has made it a subject of intense scrutiny, with social-media users attempting to interpret what the footage could mean for the reported marital crisis.

The latest development comes barely days after reports emerged that Florence Obinim’s family had allegedly returned what is traditionally known as “Tiri Nsa” to Bishop Obinim’s family—a customary practice that can signify a woman’s intention to end a marriage.

The report was made public on September 1, 2026, after media personality Ola Michael discussed the alleged development on Neat FM. According to his account, Florence’s family returned the traditional drinks to Bishop Obinim’s family, who reportedly accepted them.

The reported acceptance immediately generated speculation that the marital separation could be moving beyond private disagreements and into a more formal traditional process. However, the reports have not amounted to a publicly confirmed legal divorce, and neither party’s latest family video should be treated as definitive proof of the status of their marriage.

The couple have been married for more than 22 years and have built a highly visible public profile together, with both being prominent figures within Ghana’s Christian and gospel entertainment space.

Their relationship has therefore attracted considerable public attention whenever disagreements have surfaced.

The current controversy reportedly intensified following comments made by Bishop Obinim in June 2026, when he spoke publicly about frustrations within his marriage. Florence Obinim also reportedly indicated that she was prepared to accept a divorce if that was ultimately what her husband wanted.

Against that background, the new video has been interpreted in dramatically different ways.

Some social-media users questioned why Bishop Obinim would release or appear in such a cheerful family video at a time when reports of marital separation were dominating public discussion. One commenter asked: “What is he trying to prove with these videos?”

Others were more critical, suggesting that the seemingly happy scene did not necessarily reflect what could be happening privately within the family.
