Vivo Energy Ghana PLC, the Shell licensee in Ghana, has reaffirmed its focus on operational excellence, customer satisfaction and stronger partnerships as it positions its retail business for continued growth.

The company made the commitment at its 2026 Retail Conference and Awards held at the Alisa Hotel in Accra under the theme “Bigger, Bolder, Better Together.”

The event brought together retailers from across the country, management and employees of Vivo Energy Ghana to review the performance of the retail business, exchange ideas and identify priorities for the remainder of the year.

The conference also provided an opportunity for the company to recognise retailers and employees whose performance had contributed to the growth and operational standards of the Shell retail network.

Delivering the keynote address, Managing Director of Vivo Energy Ghana, Christian Li, commended the company’s retailers and employees for maintaining their commitment to the business despite what he described as an increasingly dynamic and volatile operating environment.

Li described the retailers as important representatives of the Shell brand, stressing that their performance directly influences the experience customers receive across the company’s network.

“Our retailers are ambassadors of the Shell brand and the driving force behind the exceptional experiences we deliver to our customers every day,” he said.

He urged the network to maintain its focus on safety, staff development, service standards and innovation while exploring opportunities beyond traditional fuel sales.

According to him, the company wants to strengthen the position of Shell as a broader mobility brand in the minds of customers and other stakeholders.

“As we look ahead, let us continue to strengthen our safety culture, invest in our people, elevate our standards, embrace innovation, and unlock opportunities beyond fuel to position Shell mobility in the heart and minds of our customers and stakeholders,” he added.

Top retailers and employees honoured

One of the major highlights of the conference was the Retail Awards ceremony, which recognised retailers, managers and other employees who distinguished themselves through their performance, leadership and commitment to operational excellence during 2025.

The Country Retailer of the Year 2025 award went to Michael John-Delase of MKA Delase Ventures, while Dr Joseph Dorph of Triple N Company Limited was named Gold Retailer 2025.

Other major award recipients included Agarthina Wiafe, who was recognised as Best Territory Manager 2025, and Gloria Serwaa of Shell Aboaso, who received the award for Best Quality Marshal 2025.

The awards were presented as part of the company’s broader effort to recognise high performance and encourage continued adherence to operational standards across its retail network.

Beyond the headline awards, several other retailers, Territory Managers and site teams were also recognised for achievements across various performance areas.

Vivo Energy Ghana said the broader recognition reflected the depth of talent and commitment within its retail operations across the country.

Focus shifts to second-half performance

The conference also reviewed the company’s performance during the first half of the year.

Presentations highlighted key achievements, areas of growth and opportunities that could shape the retail business during the second half of 2026.

Participants subsequently engaged in discussions and an open forum focused on improving operational performance, strengthening customer experience and ensuring sustainable growth across the network.

The discussions provided retailers and employees with an opportunity to share experiences and propose ways of improving collaboration between the company’s various stakeholders.
