Nana Kwadwo Safo Akofena, son of the late Apostle Kwadwo Safo Kantanka and leader of the Kristo Asafo Mission of Ghana (KAMOG), has made a notable appearance at the church’s Eastern B branch in Kade, accompanied by his wife, Oheneyere Zainab Safo.
The couple attended a worship programme at the Kade-based branch in the Eastern Region on Sunday, September 27, 2026, as part of Akofena’s activities following his assumption of leadership of the mission after the death of his father in 2025.
Footage from the visit, shared on Instagram and carrying the watermark of the Kristo Asafo Mission of Ghana, captured the couple during a ceremonial engagement with members of the congregation.
The visit comes at a time when developments within the Kantanka family continue to attract public attention, particularly because of the disagreements that surrounded the late Apostle’s funeral and subsequent questions concerning leadership of the Kristo Asafo Mission.
The video showed Nana Kwadwo Safo Akofena and Oheneyere Zainab Safo arriving at the location before proceeding into the church gathering.
Inside the assembly area, the atmosphere appeared festive and reverent, with members waving flags and applauding as the visiting church leader was welcomed.
A child was also seen participating in the welcoming ceremony, adding to the celebratory nature of the occasion.
The footage was presented as an official engagement, with an on-screen caption describing the programme as “Leader Visits Eastern B.”
Akofena’s wife, Oheneyere Zainab Safo, accompanied him throughout the visit, appearing alongside him during the ceremonial activities.
The visit provides another public display of Akofena’s activities as leader of KAMOG and his engagement with branches of the mission.
Since the death of Apostle Kwadwo Safo Kantanka, leadership of the religious organisation has remained closely connected to wider discussions about the future of the institution founded by the late Apostle.
Akofena’s appearance in Kade therefore carries significance for members of the mission, particularly as he continues visiting congregations and maintaining contact with church members.
The visit has attracted attention beyond the church because of the highly publicised tensions that emerged within the Kantanka family following the death of Apostle Kwadwo Safo Kantanka.
Akofena and his sister, former Dome-Kwabenya MP Sarah Adwoa Safo, were previously involved in disagreements surrounding aspects of their father’s funeral arrangements and other matters connected to his legacy.
