The National Youth Organiser of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Abanga Fuseini Yakubu, is expected to lead a demonstration in Accra on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, under the slogan “Y3gye Y3 Sika”, translated as “We Demand Our Money”, over allegations of financial irregularities involving government officials and concerns about the handling of public funds.

The planned protest, scheduled to commence at 6:00 a.m., is expected to bring together NPP youth and other demonstrators to demand accountability from the government over a number of issues, including the management of funds used to evacuate Ghanaians from South Africa, alleged irregularities in the issuance of diplomatic passports and reported visa racketeering surrounding Ghana’s participation in the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

A major demand of the protest organisers is the immediate dismissal of the Minister for Foreign Affairs, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, over questions surrounding the expenditure of GH¢49.7 million reportedly used for the evacuation of Ghanaians from South Africa.

The organisers are demanding a detailed account of how the funds were spent, insisting that the public deserves transparency regarding the financial arrangements and transactions associated with the evacuation exercise.

They have also raised concerns over alleged illegal sales of Ghanaian diplomatic and service passports to individuals they describe as unqualified recipients. According to the organisers, the allegations require comprehensive investigations because of the potential implications for the credibility of Ghana’s passport system and the country’s international reputation.

The demonstration organisers are further calling on the Attorney-General and the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) to initiate investigations into the alleged financial discrepancies and passport-related concerns.

They specifically cited an alleged GH¢16.4 million that remains unaccounted for and GH¢27.18 million in flight invoices they claim are missing from the relevant documentation. They want the appropriate state investigative institutions to establish the facts and, where evidence supports criminal wrongdoing, prosecute those responsible.

Another major issue expected to feature prominently during the protest concerns the Ministry of Sports and Recreation and allegations surrounding visa arrangements and travel lists connected to Ghana’s participation in the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The NPP youth leadership is demanding the immediate removal of the Minister for Sports and Recreation, Kofi Adams, over what it describes as alleged visa racketeering and fraudulent travel lists that emerged under his watch.

The organisers have questioned why the minister remains in office and continues to grant media interviews despite the concerns they have raised about the administration of World Cup-related travel arrangements.

The protest is expected to begin at Villaggio, near the Tetteh Quarshie Interchange and opposite the Accra Mall, from where demonstrators will march to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs before proceeding to Jubilee House, the seat of government.

The planned demonstration forms part of the NPP youth leadership’s call for greater accountability, transparency and investigations into the allegations raised against the two ministers.

The organisers have framed the protest around the demand that public officials account for public resources and that the relevant institutions take action on the concerns presented.

However, the financial discrepancies, missing invoices, passport allegations and reported visa irregularities remain claims advanced by the protest organisers and would require independent investigations and appropriate official findings to establish responsibility.

The demonstration, dubbed “Y3gye Y3 Sika”, is scheduled for Tuesday, November 3, 2026, beginning at 6:00 a.m. in Accra.
