Annoh-Dompreh Organises Free Breast Cancer Screening For Nsawam-Adoagyiri Residents

BY DANIEL BAMPOE

Hundreds of residents of the Nsawam-Adoagyiri Constituency participated in a free breast cancer screening exercise organised by Annoh-Dompreh, Minority Chief Whip and Member of Parliament for the constituency, in collaboration with Partners for Patients NGO, as part of efforts to improve access to healthcare and promote early detection of breast cancer.

The exercise, which took place at Cocoa Park in Adoagyiri from Monday, October 26, to Wednesday, October 28, 2026, attracted women from different communities across the constituency. The turnout increased as the programme progressed, with more women arriving at the venue to take advantage of the opportunity to undergo screening and receive professional health advice.

The initiative formed part of Annoh-Dompreh’s broader commitment to addressing the health needs of his constituents. Since becoming Member of Parliament for Nsawam-Adoagyiri, he has expressed concern about the welfare of residents and the need to support interventions that improve their access to essential services, including healthcare.

A key highlight of the exercise was the participation of doctors and health professionals from Partners for Patients NGO, who joined the programme on Wednesday to examine women and provide guidance on breast cancer awareness.

Beyond the screening itself, the medical team took time to educate participants on breast cancer, the importance of early detection, and the need to seek medical attention when they notice unusual changes in their breasts. The education sessions were intended to help women become more informed about their health and encourage them to take preventive healthcare seriously.

The event also attracted participation from schools and other members of the community, broadening the reach of the awareness campaign. The involvement of these groups highlighted the importance of making health education accessible beyond individual patients and encouraging communities to take a more active interest in preventive healthcare.

The atmosphere at Cocoa Park was described as lively and encouraging, as women turned out in large numbers to participate in the exercise.

Several beneficiaries expressed gratitude to Hon. Annoh-Dompreh for facilitating the programme, noting the value of bringing screening services and health education closer to residents.
