The Eastern South Regional Police Command has announced the arrest of four suspects in connection with the murder of five people at Asiyaw, near Akwane-Dobro, Nsawam, in the Eastern Region.
The suspects, identified as Samuel Atsu Forson alias Alanyo, Freeheart Kweku Sedonu, Kwesi Prince, and Benjamin Adzalekor, were arrested from their respective hideouts.
The shooting incident occurred on April 29, 2025, following a confrontation between two groups over sand winning at Asiyaw.
The altercation resulted in the death of five people, and the police launched an investigation to apprehend the perpetrators.
The suspects were subsequently arraigned before the Osino District Court on May 2, 2025.
After a thorough investigation, the court remanded Samuel Atsu Forson, Freeheart Kweku Sedonu, and Kwesi Prince into prison custody, while Benjamin Adzalekor was remanded into police custody.
The suspects are scheduled to reappear before the court on May 8, 2025.
The police have assured the public that the suspects will be taken through the due process.
