Fake Doctor Missing On Radar

By Issah Olegor

A woman once hailed in Ghanaian media and political circles as “Dr. Anne Sansa Daly” is now at the centre of a deepening national scandal — and has mysteriously vanished just as calls intensify for her arrest and prosecution.

Anne Sansa Daly, whose alleged fraudulent medical credentials and political influence allowed her to rise swiftly in Ghana’s public health and governance space, has not been seen publicly in days.

Her disappearance follows a wave of damning revelations, including confirmation from medical authorities that she is not a licensed doctor and never has been — in Ghana or abroad.

Until recently, Daly was a familiar face on Ghanaian television screens and at public health forums.

Claiming to be a U.S.-trained family physician, she became a recurring guest on health programs, an advocate for medical issues, and an outspoken political figure aligned with the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC).

Her influence appeared to stretch into the highest levels of the political establishment.

In a widely circulated Facebook post on December 10, 2024, Daly publicly claimed to be the personal physician of President John Dramani Mahama, stating: “It’s been a great honour serving you as personal physician, especially during the difficult times in opposition and throughout the very tough campaign.”

For many, this statement confirmed her place in the president’s inner circle — a fact that helped her secure credibility and connections across both the media and the political space.

Medical Council Debunks Claims

However, suspicions surrounding her background began to surface in early 2025, prompting a formal inquiry to the Ghana Medical and Dental Council (MDC).

The Council responded with a definitive statement: Anne Sansa Daly is not and has never been registered to practice medicine in Ghana.

The MDC revealed that Daly does not appear on its registry and has never held a license under the Health Professions Regulatory Bodies Act, 2013 (Act 857).

No verifiable documentation has since been produced to support her claim of being either locally or internationally certified.

Forgery of U.S. Medical Certification

Further scrutiny revealed that Daly’s fraudulent credentials extended to the United States.

She had circulated a certificate purportedly issued by the American Board of Family Medicine (ABFM), allegedly confirming her status as a board-certified physician.

When contacted for verification, the ABFM discredited the certificate as fake, stating it was never issued in Daly’s name.

They highlighted discrepancies in the document’s layout and serial numbering system — confirming that it had been fabricated, a potential criminal offence.

This revelation solidified allegations that Daly deliberately deceived the public, the media, and government institutions with forged medical documentation.

Controversial Appointment

Despite the swirling doubts, Daly’s profile was elevated when she was appointed to the governing board of the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) on May 19, 2025 — a high-profile appointment made by the Office of the President.

Her inclusion immediately raised questions within Ghana’s health sector. Just four days later, on May 23, 2025, the Office of the President revoked her appointment.

The revocation letter, signed by Presidential Secretary Dr. Callistus Mahama, notably omitted the title “Dr.” before her name — a quiet but significant acknowledgment of her misrepresentation.

Personal Allegations and Political Intrigue

Adding further complexity to the saga, broadcaster and political commentator Okatakyie Afrifa Mensah — who claims to be a former romantic partner of Daly — accused her of using her false identity to wage political vendettas.

On his program For The Records, Afrifa alleged that Daly, in collaboration with senior NDC figures including Sammy Gyamfi, filed a false cybercrime report against him, accusing him of threats involving explicit material.

Although Afrifa was briefly detained, no evidence was found on his devices.

He believes this was a politically motivated effort to silence him for criticizing the Mahama administration’s controversial GoldBod agreement.

Afrifa further linked Daly to U.S.-based Ghanaian political influencer and fugitive, Kevin Taylor, alleging she was part of a coordinated campaign to disseminate misinformation ahead of the 2024 elections.

Public Demands for Prosecution

In the days following the scandal, civil society organizations, health professionals, and anti-corruption advocates have demanded immediate legal action.

The Ghana Medical Association (GMA) has condemned Daly’s conduct and called on the police and Attorney General’s Department to initiate criminal proceedings for impersonation, forgery, and fraud.

But amid the escalating outcry, Anne Sansa Daly, who is believed to be a daughter of Reverend Minister has gone silent — and missing.

Her social media accounts have gone dormant, and her known addresses have yielded no trace of her.
