Gold Dealer Survives Brutal Robbery Attack In Assin Fosu; 3 Suspects Arrested

BY Daniel Bampoe

In a dramatic twist of courage and mysticism, a gold dealer in Assin Fosu, identified as Kwaku Amos, has survived a violent armed robbery attack believed to have involved firearms and machetes — and he claims his survival was due to a protective spell and divine intervention.

The incident occurred on June 25, 2025, at Ntow-Krom, near Sekyem in the Central Region.

According to police and eyewitness accounts, three unidentified young men launched an attack on Amos, who is known in the community for his dealings in gold.

The robbers reportedly fired multiple shots — at least eight — directly at him, but inexplicably, the bullets failed to penetrate his body.

The assailants then resorted to slashing him with a machete, but again, they failed to inflict any serious harm.

Amos, recounting the chilling ordeal, said that although he possesses a protective charm, it was ultimately divine intervention that saved his life.

His only injury came when one of the attackers struck him in the right eye with the butt of a pump-action shotgun, which forced him to lose partial vision and eventually received treatment.

Realizing they could not subdue Amos, the robbers fled the scene on a motorbike.

However, their freedom was short-lived. Based on intelligence received shortly after the incident, a combined team from the Assin Fosu Division and the District Police mounted a snap checkpoint at Assin Nyankumase.

The suspects were intercepted and arrested while attempting to escape.

In the process of the arrest, the robbers tried to dispose of the evidence by throwing a pump-action gun into nearby bushes.

Police managed to retrieve the firearm, a spent cartridge, and a machete believed to have been used during the robbery.

Another pump-action gun was also recovered from the suspects.

The Central North Regional Police Command has confirmed that the three suspects are currently in custody and assisting with investigations.

They are expected to be arraigned before the court in the coming days.

The bizarre and near-miraculous survival of Kwaku Amos has sparked public debate in the area, with some attributing his escape to supernatural protection, while others credit his sheer bravery and luck.
