Colgate Ghana has launched an eight-week scholarship campaign in partnership with Melcom Supermarkets, offering a total of GH¢240,000 in educational scholarships and GH¢120,000 in shopping vouchers to support students and reward participating customers across the country.
The campaign, officially launched on October 21, 2026, will run until December 18, 2026, across Melcom’s 54 stores nationwide. It seeks to connect everyday household purchases with educational support by giving customers an opportunity to nominate students for scholarships when they buy selected Colgate oral care products.
Under the initiative, customers who purchase two participating Colgate products from any Melcom store can nominate a student to benefit from the scholarship scheme. Winners will be selected through weekly draws throughout the campaign period.
The participating products include 140g Colgate Herbal and Maximum Cavity Protection toothpaste, as well as 120g Colgate Charcoal Gentle Clean.
GH¢15,000 Scholarships to Be Paid Directly to Schools
Each scholarship is valued at GH¢15,000, with the funds paid directly to the beneficiary students’ schools to ensure that the support goes towards educational needs.
According to the campaign organisers, the money can be used to cover tuition, approved levies, examination registration fees and essential school supplies.
The arrangement is intended to ensure that the financial assistance directly benefits students and helps ease some of the costs associated with their education.
In addition to the GH¢240,000 scholarship package, the campaign will award GH¢120,000 in Melcom shopping vouchers, providing further incentives for customers who participate.
Edward Sonkor, Country Lead of Colgate Ghana, said the initiative reflects the company’s commitment to supporting communities beyond its core business of oral care.
“We have spent decades caring for smiles across Ghana, but a smile is more than healthy teeth,” he said. “A smile is confidence. It is the power that helps a child walk into a classroom ready to learn. This campaign builds a culture that celebrates learning and ensures no child is left behind.”
