Kumasi Asante Kotoko has emerged victorious in the 2024/25 MTN FA Cup, pocketing a total of GH¢180,000 in prize money.
The Porcupine Warriors defeated Golden Kick FC 2-1 in the final, at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium.
Kwame Opoku opened the scoring for Kotoko, but Bless Ege levelled the game with a spectacular free-kick before halftime.
In the dying minutes of the match, Kotoko was awarded a controversial penalty, which Opoku confidently converted to seal the win.
Prize Money Breakdown
According to Wilson Arthur, Chairman of the FA Cup Committee, Kotoko will receive GH¢80,000 in prize money and an additional GH¢100,000 from the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to support their campaign in the upcoming CAF Confederation Cup.
This financial package aims to help the team prepare adequately for continental competition.
